JDM CANADA
What began in South Korea as a small Christian movement—JDM (Jesus Disciple Movement)—has grown into an international community, reaching university campuses like SFU and UBC, where students gather to grow in faith and discipleship.
Design became one of the ways to serve and connect—starting with simple PowerPoint slides and gradually growing into the role of creative lead. From designing social media, retreats, and events, each project was an opportunity to tell meaningful stories and reflect the heart of the community through visual design.

2024 Summer Retreat ‘성령을 따라! 땅끝까지! 증인이 되라!’
(1) Follow the Spirit (2) to the ends of the earth (3) become witnesses
In charge of the role of creative lead with the theme “Follow the Spirit to the Ends of the Earth, become Witnesses”. The design for the 2024 JDM Canada Summer Retreat was developed reflectling both the message and atmosphere of the event. Though the process of handling the entire design from start to finish presented initial challenges, the visual identity gradually came together, helping to shape the overall tone of the retreat. The main color used was fluorescent orange—chosen not only for its compatibility with risograph printing, but also because orange is the symbolic color of JDM.

A simple, short promotional video for the 2023 JDM CANADA 일일식당 event. The video features lively pacing synced with upbeat music, using the main event typography to stay true to the poster design and build excitement across digital platform.

2023 Winter Retreat ‘Back to the Word’
Drawing inspiration from the word ‘book’ in the title, the concept was designed with a cut-and-paste aesthetic, as if the letters were cut out from a book. Proceeding on, social media graphics were designed based on the given concept.

Produced weekly visual content—including PowerPoint decks—while staying adaptable in a fast-paced environment with last-minute edits and real-time updates. Initial designs were created in Adobe Creative Suite, then optimized in Keynote for team accessibility and flexible revision workflows.
Main Concept
Led the visual direction for JDM CANADA under the 2023–2024 theme,
‘내 마음을 주께 드려라 (Give Your Heart to God). ’ Developed the main design concept with symbolic elements, focusing on a minimalist style to seamlessly complement diverse event aesthetics throughout the year.

2023 Spring Joint Chapel
JDM Canada hosts joint outings at the end of each semester, and for spring, UBC takes the lead. Inspired by the season, forsythia’s vibrant yellow has been chosen as the theme color to capture the essence of spring.
During this process, a physical copy of the poster and special goods were created.
